
In Memory of Dennis Raymond Cramer

The Satyrs lost a good friend, a brother, and a member of 34 years, Dennis Raymond Cramer, passed peacefully April 9, 2026 with his sister Paula and friends at his side in Palm Springs California. Born in Milan, Indiana on July 27, 1956, his family moved to a 62 Acre farm in 1966 in Sylvatus, Virginia. Dennis’ mother Pauline Frances Roseberry was a nurse, and he has 11 Brothers and Sisters.
Graduated from Virginia Tech School of Architecture in 1979 as an AIA, immediately moved to Washington D.C. and interned for a large firm working on the Senate Office Building, Fannie Mae Building and the Russian Embassy. After his internship, he was offered a job in Los Angeles as a new office was being opened by his friend and soon to be Boss, Bob Gilly, so he drove with everything he had in his life to the LA Area. He was a Vice President for HOK in Los Angeles where he designed jails and prisons, He was the lead architect for the Visa/San Diego jail, Million Orange County Intake/Release Center Jail, Santa Ana PD Headquarters and the LA County Intake/Release Center.
Dennis was part of the 1st ever AIDS Study through UCLA Medical that started in 1985 and ended in 2004. He provided Blood samples as part of the gay community before we had test for HIV or really knew what AIDS was.
Dennis became a member of the Satyrs M/C in 1992 at our annual campout event Bader Flat, he rode a Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle all black of course. He served as President in 1994 and held other offices through his membership. Dennis relocated to the Palm Springs area around 1996 and was one of the early titleholders, “Mr. Tool Shed “. Beside motorcycling Dennis was an active player on the Los Angeles Gay Pool League for the “Spike Bar” and later with the Palm Springs Gay Pool League for the “Tool Shed Bar”.
Dennis was also a long-time member of the Rainbows Motorcycle Club in San Francisco, CA. Dennis favorite motto “Tougher the truth, the truer the friend”.
